today and become a “Friend” celebrating
the “ Road that Made the Nation”.
The James Shaull Wagon Train Foundation,
Inc. sponsors the National Pike Festival and Wagon Train.
Our mission is to preserve the continuance of the festival
which
has come to be known as the “Worlds Longest Festival”, stretching
from Ohio, through Pennsylvania and Maryland. Washington County is the only
portion of the National Pike (Route 40) that is celebrated in Maryland. The
achievement
of our mission would not be possible without the help of many partners in the
region. An all volunteer organization relies strongly on its “Friends” for
help, input and encouragement. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, the corporation seeks
grants and donations from public and private sources to maintain this unique
celebration in our community.
